All of the pre-cast concrete units for a new accessible footbridge with lifts at Dawlish railway station have been lifted into place, Network Rail has announced.
Work will now begin on installing the lifts and building a new ramp and stairs at the entrance to the station.
The bridge is expected to be open to the public by the end of the year.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We've now lifted in all the pre-cast concrete units for the new accessible footbridge at Dawlish station.
"The deck and final pieces of the lift towers have been installed. We'll now move on to installing the lifts themselves and building a new ramp and stairs at the entrance to the station.
"We expect the bridge to come into use towards the end of this year, making journeys easier for passengers."
What is the progress of other projects at the railway?
