Dawlish footpath 'pocket park' to shut for new surfacing

A small "pocket park" on the footpath from the A379 down to the sea wall at Coastguards Cottages in Dawlish is due to shut for new surfacing to be laid.
It will be closed from 7am on Thursday (24 August) until mid- to late-afternoon on Friday.
Network Rail is giving the area a makeover as part of the overall sea wall project. Upgrades include a new footpath, handrail, wildflower turf and new shrubs and flowers. The benches have been removed for safekeeping and will reportedly be returned when work is finished.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We'll be closing the footpath in the pocket park near Coastguards Cottages so that we can apply a resin surface.
"It's due to be closed from 7am on Thursday 24 August until mid- to late-afternoon on Friday 25 August to allow the resin to set."
