A Dawlish café reopened today (Wednesday 14 September) after changing its name and redecorating its interior.

The Queen Street establishment, formerly known as No.1 Café, is now Woody's Café.

Owners Kimberley and Byron Woods had always wanted to change the name after taking over in August 2017 - and have at last done so. ('Woody' is a nickname of Byron's and a variation on their surnames.)

A spokesperson said: "We hope you all like the changes, we have a new menu, a new look and a new name!

"We have wanted to change our name since the day we got the keys over five years ago. We should 100% have done it then, we really wish we did! But we have finally got it done and we love it.

"Our staff have been amazing, they have all come in and helped us out in one way or another, from using a nail gun like a pro, doing beautiful little paintings, sanding and spending eight hours solidly cleaning up after all the work.

"It is still owned by Kim & Byron and we still have the same amazing team you all know and love."
