Network Rail is giving a small "pocket park" on the footpath from the A379 down to the sea wall at Coastguards Cottages in Dawlish a makeover.
It comes as part of the overall sea wall project. Upgrades include a new footpath, handrail, wildflower turf and new shrubs and flowers.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: "The pocket park near Coastguards Cottages is being given a makeover as part of our Dawlish sea wall project.
"We've been putting down a new footpath, installing a handrail, wildflower turf and planting new shrubs and flowers.
"The footpath is open, except for when new surfacing is being laid, but part of the park area remains closed for now while the turf and plants bed in.
"The benches have been removed for safekeeping and will be returned when the work is finished."
What is the progress of other projects at the railway?
