Local environmental action group Dawlish Against Plastic has broken its own record for the amount of rubbish collected in a single day in and around Dawlish - and now they're looking for more litter pickers to join them.

The group collected as much as 84.4kg on Saturday 29 January, despite not having many people attend.

Spokesperson for Dawlish Against Plastic Rosie Dawson said: "We brought so much back from Holcombe Down Road; 84.4kg of rubbish and stuff that had been dumped in and around Dawlish parish.

"If you want to join us next month drop us a message or just turn up."

The team meets on the last Saturday of each month at 10am in the Manor House car park.

Rosie added: "Aim for 10am, then you've got time to get your equipment, have a quick safety briefing, then off you go to your favourite area, and then bring your rubbish back to be weighed by 12pm."
