Gary Taylor is standing for election to represent the Dawlish South West ward for the Liberal Democrats at Dawlish Town Council.

He is currently a councillor at district and town level.

----------

Over ten years ago, due to concerns about excessive A379 traffic and coastal over-development, I began a campaign against the 2013-2033 Teignbridge Local Plan.

After moving from Kenton to Dawlish, I became a town councillor in 2015, campaigning alongside Alison Foden and Martin Wrigley on many other local issues such as saving Warren Farm, the early delivery of the Gatehouse/Sainsbury’s Link Road and improved plans for the Dawlish seawall.

I became a district councillor in 2019 – taking on responsibility for the new Teignbridge Local Plan, which is now ready for inspection.

This new Local Plan contains no new housing allocations in Dawlish or Teignmouth.

I have really enjoyed the challenges of working as a councillor - and I hope to continue to be able to support our coastal and rural communities in whatever capacity I can.
