Teignmouth Lido has been closed due to a water leak and is "unlikely to reopen" before its scheduled seasonal closure this Sunday (3 September).
The outdoor pool reopened in May for the first time since 2020.
Teignbridge District Council described the leak as "major" and resulted in water levels falling by over a foot in 24 hours.
Staff and contractors are now working to identify the source of the leak and make the necessary repairs, before refilling and reheating the pool.
But there is "a significant risk" the pool will not be able to reopen before its closes for the season, the local authority said.
'We are really sorry'
A Teignbridge Leisure spokesperson said: "We're sorry that we have had to close Teignmouth Lido due to a water leak.
"The pool will remain closed while we identify and repair the source of this leak. This means the pool is unlikely to reopen before the scheduled seasonal closure [on] Sunday (3 September).
"You can still swim at our other Teignbridge Leisure swimming pools located at Dawlish Leisure Centre and Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, which host a variety of swimming sessions, including lane swims, fun swims and inflatable sessions.
"We are really sorry for the disappointment this will cause."
