Teignmouth Lido is reopening today (Saturday 27 May) for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
An £800k "decarbonisation" project that took longer than expected kept the outdoor pool closed last summer. It involved installing solar panels, battery storage, low-carbon air-source heat pumps and high-efficiency modern pool circulation pumps.
The lido's full price list is as follows:
- Adult all-day swim pass: £8.60;
- Junior all-day swim pass: £6.20;
- Adult swim/ fun session (maximum two-hour entry): £6;
- Junior swim/ fun session (maximum two-hour entry): £4.10;
- Family swim pass (two adults and two children, all-day entry): £25.40;
- Family swim pass (two adults and two children, maximum two-hour entry): £17.10;
- Shower only: £6.
You will only be able to pay by card, not cash. You will need a 20p coin to use a locker, however.
A Teignbridge Leisure spokesperson said: "Our general and fun swims work on a pay-on-arrival basis. Teignbridge Leisure members can enjoy this facility as part of their membership.
"Non-members can pay per session or purchase a day pass from the lido reception."
On Saturday, there is lane-swimming available from 9.30am to 11am, after which there is a 'fun swim' until 5pm followed by more general- and lane-swimming. The pool closes at 7pm.
