Devon County Council is proposing new traffic restrictions on four Dawlish roads.

'No waiting at any time' constraints have been put forward for lengths of Elm Grove Road, Stockton Hill and West Cliff Road, and a no waiting rule from 8am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm for a length of Plantation Terrace.

The restrictions are reportedly being proposed to "resolve minor local issues that have been reported to the council".

Reasons given include:

  • To improve visibility on Elm Grove Road;
  • To improve visibility and road safety on Stockton Hill;
  • To prevent obstructive parking on West Cliff Road;
  • To improve visibility and prevent obstructive parking on Plantation Terrace.

Where appropriate, Devon County Council said there will be the usual exemptions including those in relation to picking up/ setting down passengers, loading/ unloading goods and disabled persons vehicles.
