A service of "thanksgiving and hope" for the life of a Dawlish church leader will be held later this week.

Hazel Huggins, who had been on the leadership team at Hope Church in Dawlish, died last month at the age of 53 at an address in Plymouth. A man has been charged with her murder.

The service, to which all are welcome, will take place at 2pm on Friday 25 August at The Hope Centre on Swift Road.

There will not be any parking spaces available at the church car park, and attendees are asked to lift-share or use public transport "wherever possible".

Those with disabilities or mobility limitations may be dropped off at the Hope Centre and vehicles then parked elsewhere, however. There is very limited parking at the Black Swan Business Park, which will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

You can contact the church office via email [email protected] to request a space.

The service will also be livestreamed via the church website. You can send a tribute online here.

In terms of donations, organisers have asked for no flowers or gifts. Instead, monetary donations will go to Hope Church's pastoral work, including to support those struggling with anxiety and mental health, as "Hazel's wishes were to see the lost and broken of Dawlish supported and loved".

You can donate to Hope Church using account number 39779568, sort code 30-90-89, with reference 'Hazel Legacy'.
