Getting ready to go (Dawlish Against Plastic)
Getting ready to go (Dawlish Against Plastic)

Many local people will remember Open Daw litter picks which were a part of the work of the organisation for several years before the charity was forced to wind up due to difficulties caused by the pandemic.

Dawlish Against Plastic group members did not want to see this regular litter picking activity disappear from the Dawlish calendar so we worked with Open Daw and Dawlish Town Council to transfer the responsibility for the litter pick to Dawlish Against Plastic.

Fortunately we were able to continue the familiar timetable due to the input of Rosie Dawson and her family, who agreed to organise the sessions for us.

While paid council employees do a great job keeping the town spick and span there is always room for community participation and we would love more residents to join us.

Our schedule of litter-picks and beach cleans for this year (Dawlish Against Plastic)

Litter-picking sessions are held on the last Saturday of each month from 10am-12 noon meeting at the Manor House in Old Town Street, EX7 9AW, so if you've noticed areas that could do with a clean up near where you live, come along and find out more. We provide all equipment including gloves, pickers, high viz vests and collection bags.

You can also email Rosie at [email protected] or browse our website.
