Steam train thunders through Dawlish

A train with two steam locomotives passed through Dawlish today (Wednesday 13 July).
It passed through the town at around 12.41pm, with Britannia Pacific Class No. 70000 'Britannia' as the leading locomotive and West Country Class No. 34046 'Braunton' directly behind it.
The train was part of Saphos Trains' The Golden Hind tour, which seeks to recreate 'one of the classic holiday trains of the golden age of railway travel'.
The tour departed with diesel from Slough at 7.40am this morning, passing through Maidenhead, Reading, Didcot Parkway, Swindon, Chippenham, Bath Spa, and Bristol Temple Meads.
The steam leg of the journey began in Taunton and headed down along the Exe Estuary, through Dawlish, to Ivybridge and will arrive in Plymouth for 2pm.
It will depart again at 4pm, passing through Dawlish at around 5.25pm.
