Dawlish is set to mark Remembrance Sunday this year with a parade, wreath-laying ceremony and church service.

Below are key times to be aware of:

Armistice Day, Friday 11 November

Dawlish Town Council and the Dawlish branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a two-minute silence at 11am at the 'poppy wall' to the rear of Dawlish Bowling Club on the Lawn.

All are welcome.

Remembrance Sunday, 13 November

There will be a parade, wreath-laying ceremony, and church service.

The parade will assemble at 2.30pm at the Central Hall on Park Road and go to the war memorial at 2.40pm for the wreath-laying in the Memorial Garden at 3pm. There will then be a service at St Gregory's Church.

Roads will be closed briefly along the parade route. Church Street between the junction with Barton Villas and the junction with Westcliff Road will be closed during and after the parade for the duration of the wreath-laying in anticipation of the number of people going to attend.

After the service, attendees are invited to go to the Royal British Legion club on Park Road.

The town council is inviting those who want to lay their wreaths outside the ceremony times to do so from 10am to 1pm or after 4pm.
