Dawlish band Maddy and the Chaps has released a new single covering traditional Irish folk song "The Wild Rover".

The track includes the pre-recorded mandolin-playing of band member Chris Diggins, who died in August 2022.

Fellow band member Frank O'Friel said: "We are really excited about our latest release, which is now out on all streaming platforms.

"It's a track that always goes down well at our gigs, so trying to provide a bit more of a live feel to the chorus!

"It was recorded and produced by Gaz Chatterton who has done an amazing job again.

"It includes Chris's mandolin playing, which was recorded before he died last year. This includes the last bar of the track, so do listen until the end, and please share!"

Maddy and the Chaps plays a mix of folk, country, and Celtic music with an acoustic style.

The band will be playing a gig on 17 March (St Patrick's Day) at the Gresham House Inn on Commercial Road in Dawlish.
