Two – by Jim Cartwright

Life in a local pub, as a bickering husband and wife and the dozen regulars who pass through in an evening explore the fragilities of relationships and life. Each moment skillfully combines pathos and humour. When a little boy is left behind by his father, a fragile reconciliation occurs as their own dark tragedy is revealed.

First performed in 1989 at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton, Two is a funny and touching play exploring working class characters in 1980s Northern Britain. Written by award-winning playwright Jim Cartwright, whose other plays are consistently performed around the world and have been translated into twenty languages.

This performance will be accompanied by the premiere of local playwright Dave Davies' new work – A Better Day Tomorrow – a heart-warming tale of parental love.
