Teignbridge councillors have backed plans to tackle the number of empty homes in the area and bring them back into use.
Members of the ruling executive heard on Monday that, despite the total number more than halving since 2008, 345 homes in the district are still empty – 131 of which have been unoccupied for two years or more and are classified as 'truly empty'.

It'll be a great game between England and underdogs Ukraine, and should hopefully see us progress to the semi-finals - but how can you watch it, and what are the rules?
Just after 6am this morning (Friday 2 July) a Dawlish fire engine was called to a report of a car on fire.
When they arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the vehicle.
Fire crews were called to a property in Dawlish last night (1 July) just after 10.45pm to put out a fire in a kitchen caused by tea towels on a hob.
The two occupants had already evacuated the property, and the fire service quickly extinguished the fire and removed the smoke.
June 2021 was warmer, cloudier and had higher rainfall totals but marginally more dry days when compared to the 1981 to 2010 average.
Low pressure moved North over SW England early in the month bringing a little rain on the 2nd.
