Dawlish Against Plastic has also organised an extra beach clean for Great Big Green Week.

Dawlish and Teignmouth Camera Club has launched a photo competition as part of the Great Big Green Week taking place from 18-26 September in the town.

The Great Big Green Week is a national event organised by the Climate Coalition, and Sustainable Dawlish has organised a series of events during the week. Dawlish Against Plastic has also organised a town litter pick and extra beach clean.

Dashcams are being distributed to businesses and organisations whose members are often out on the road in Devon and Cornwall, so that they can capture footage of dangerous driving.

South West Water, the RNLI and the regional housing association Live West are among those who've been provided with the 170 cameras, in a scheme jointly funded by National Highways and the Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner's office.

Regular Covid tests, face coverings in communal areas and one-way systems are among the measures in place at Devon's schools and colleges as pupils return to the classroom.

Devon, and the rest of the South West, is a designated 'enhanced response area' because of the relatively high number of Covid cases, meaning local authorities have more flexibility to introduce additional public health measures.
