Delays to refuse collections in Teignbridge this week mean that waste crews will be working over the weekend to catch up, the district council has said.
It has advised residents to leave their bins out for collection - but has warned that some may not be collected until Monday.
A local man has walked the equivalent of a marathon this month to raise money for the citizens of Ukraine.

'Crucial' work to install piles for the foundations of a new £37.4m, 209m rockfall shelter north of Parson's Tunnel between Dawlish and Holcombe is now complete.
The railway was closed overnight for eight weeks after work began on 24 January. The closures only caused minor disruption, and the GWR Night Riviera sleeper service can operate as normal again.

Teignmouth Hospital looks set to close after an independent panel found the NHS consulted 'adequately' with councillors on the plan.
The community hospital on Mill Lane was the first to be built by the NHS in 1954 but is planned to close, with services moving to Dawlish Hospital and a new £8 million health centre in Teignmouth town centre.
