Dogs are set to be banned from some Teignbridge beaches this Friday 1 April until 30 September.
The annual ban forms part of a 'Public Space Protection Order', which also includes keeping your dog on a fixed 1m lead when on or adjacent to the public highway or on a footpath or cycle path.

A record 416 people with Covid are in Devon's hospitals – 30 per cent higher than any other point during the pandemic.
Dr Phil Norrey, Devon County Council's chief executive, revealed the figure at a scrutiny meeting on Thursday, saying it was causing a "very significant impact" on the NHS's ability to deal with other emergency admissions and surgeries.

Devon traffic wardens are experiencing 'unacceptable' verbal abuse from the public, councillors have been told.
A report to a county council scrutiny meeting this week revealed 77 reported incidents in the past three years, with the vast majority relating to verbal abuse.

A new, updated design for an accessible footbridge at Dawlish Railway Station has now been revealed.
It will feature lifts to help passengers get from one platform to the other, and an uncovered walkway.

Teignbridge District Council has recently been cracking down on rentals with poor energy ratings - and therefore higher running costs.
It has checked over 300 EPC 'G' rated properties so far, and contacted 48 landlords who may have lower than the minimum rating required. Properties must have at least an 'E' rating to be rented unless there is a valid exemption.
Police have issued an appeal for information after an alleged rape of a man in Exeter.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 4am and 5.15am this morning (Tuesday 29 March) in the grounds of St Sidwell's Church, Exeter.

The Chancellor's Spring Statement was always going to be a challenge. With the cost of living, largely driven by energy costs, growing every day, how could the Chancellor relieve the pressure?
He began by announcing three immediate measures to help households that are struggling. The first was to cut fuel duty at the pumps by 5p per litre- the biggest cut to fuel duty in history. Having been inundated with constituent emails about the rising cost of diesel and petrol, I know that this will be a welcome measure.
