Environmental charity Surfers Against Sewage has issued a warning for bathers at Dawlish Town Beach today (27 July) as there is a risk of pollution in the water.
The charity's free Safer Seas and Rivers Service tracks when sewers overflow and send out untreated human sewage into the sea, which usually happens after heavy rainfall.

Beloved Dawlish gift shop Gay's Creamery has reopened today (Tuesday 27 July) after one of its staff tested positive for Covid-19 and others had to self-isolate.
The shop has since announced that its staff will continue to use masks and gloves, and has said that they would 'appreciate it' if customers would wear a mask unless exempt.
UPDATE 27 JULY: Mutley has now been found and is receiving veterinary treatment. He will soon be returned to his owner.
A dog that went missing from the Park Road area of Dawlish last week on Monday 19 July is believed to have been stolen.

Covid cases have increased in every part of Devon, with figures almost doubling in the last week in Plymouth, rising by 1126.
The case rate in the area is now 188 per cent higher than the UK average. The rise means almost one in 1,000 people in Plymouth currently how the virus.

Dawlish firefighters helped put out a fire that lasted two days at Hill Barton Business Park near Clyst St Mary.
According to a fire service report, the fire started 'in a shredder and spread to a woodpile' just after 1.15pm on Friday 23 July. Large plumes of smoke were visible.
