Winners announced of Dawlish Halloween Pumpkin Trail

Local News by Philippa Davies 23rd Jul 2021

More than 200 children took part in this year's Halloween pumpkin trail, and three winners have now been presented with their prizes.

Shops and other businesses around the town displayed pumpkins in their windows, and children were challenged to spot them all and write their names on their entry form.

Ali Aitchison, who organised the trail on behalf of the Dawlish Chamber of Trade, said: "Over 200 children took part on the trail, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves discovering the pumpkins in the shop windows in all weathers."

The three winners were all from Dawlish. The first prize of £20 went to Malachi, the second prize of £10 went to Charlotte, and the third prize, £5, was won by Joshua.

Traders praised for 'great' displays

Ali said: "Many thanks to all the traders who took part.

"The pumpkins and window displays were great!

"The children were asked to vote for their favourite pumpkin, and the hairdressers were on winning form with Salon 84's Baby Boos getting the most votes, closely followed by Signature's Trumpkin. Salon 84 received a certificate and box of chocolates for winning."
