Dawlish's Christmas lights were switched on this evening (Friday 25 November).

Organised by Dawlish Town Council and supported by local groups and volunteers, the event kicked off with a lantern parade around the Lawn.

Community carols sung by school choirs and local churches followed, before the lights were switched on at around 6pm.

Torbay Brass Band were also playing at the event.

The festive street lights can now be seen around town, adorning the Christmas tree on the bandstand, and over the Brook.

See below for photos taken by your correspondent at the event and above for a video of the switch-on itself.
