'Very limited service' for Dawlish in upcoming rail strike

A "very limited service" will run on the railway line between Exeter St Davids and Paignton via Dawlish on strike days this week.

During the industrial action, which will take place on Wednesday 1 and Friday 3 February, trains will run only on the following routes:

  • London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads
  • Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff
  • Reading and Basingstoke
  • Reading and Oxford
  • Reading and Redhill
  • Swindon and Westbury
  • Exeter St Davids and Exmouth
  • Exeter St Davids and Paignton (via Dawlish)
  • Plymouth and Gunnislake
  • Penzance and St Ives

Services will start at 7.30am and must be completed by around 7.30pm. Tickets for 1, 2 and 3 February can be used the day before or up to and including Tuesday 7 February.

If you have a tickets for travel on strike days you can claim a full refund or amend your ticket. If you travel and are delayed, you may be entitled to Delay Repay compensation.

Rail strikes have so far taken place in JuneJulyAugustOctoberNovember, and December last year, and in January this year.
