Utility pole damage leaves Shaldon residents without electricity

Many Shaldon residents lost power after an electrical cable on a utility pole was damaged on Bridge Road on Saturday (25 February).

The damage is believed to have been caused by a road traffic collision at around midday and saw a short-lived electrical fire scorch the wooden pole.

Residents were left without electricity for several hours while the cable was repaired.

Temporary two-way traffic lights remain in place at the time of writing.
