A Dawlish firefighter passed his LGV driving test on Friday (24 February).

Dan Force is now permitted to drive a fire engine, but must complete 350 return miles and do a course before being able to respond to emergency incidents.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighter Dan Force passed his LGV driving test today, allowing him to now progress on to driving the fire appliance.

"He now needs to complete 350 return miles for experience before doing his EFAD (Emergency Fire Appliance Driving) Course to be able to respond on blue lights to incidents.

"Give him a wave if you see him out driving the fire engine."
