Update: GWR advises customers not to travel 'unless absolutely essential' as Storm Barra hits

Update 12.13pm: Trains are operating, but GWR are 'advising customers not to travel unless absolutely essential' due to the adverse weather conditions.

There are rail replacement buses between Newton Abbot and Exeter St Davids, and you can reportedly use your ticket on Stagecoach bus routes 2, 2A, 22, 39, 88, GOLD and X38.

Trains 'may be cancelled or delayed' by up to 60 minutes until about 3pm today.


Original article 11.09am: Trains between Dawlish and Exeter St Davids 'may be cancelled' or delayed after a train broke down today (Tuesday 7 December).

The line to Exeter St Davids is currently blocked.

Great Western Railway have said that disruption is expected until 12pm.
