Forde House, where in-person meetings are about to re-start

Teignbridge District Council is returning to holding its meetings in person under the same roof, following Government rules banning virtual-only meetings.

But the meetings at Forde House will still be live-streamed on the council's new webcast service, which replaces the YouTube screenings used during the past year.

The website signposts recent and upcoming meetings, and enables people who sign up to the free service to get advance notifications of meetings.

The first in-person meeting to be held since the start of Covid restrictions last year will be the Executive committee on Wednesday, May 13 at 10am.

People who want to speak at meetings, for example to ask agenda questions or comment on planning or licensing applications, will be able to attend – preferably virtually. They will need to arrange their attendance with the council's democratic services team.

Council meetings will in future be held physically and live streamed in line with new national requirements that prevent virtual only meetings being held.

The annual full council meeting, on Friday, May 28, will be held at Newton Abbot racecourse to allow social distancing.

Space and movement limitations will apply to all in-person meetings as part of the efforts to maintain a secure Covid environment and enable those in Forde House to continue working safely.
