A Dawlish fire crew has helped deal with a burning camper van in Kenton.

Dawlish firefighters were called out following reports of smoke coming from the area of Mowlish Lane at about 3.40pm on Friday, May 7.

They found a converted single-decker bus on fire near a barn and called for back-up from Middlemoor and Danes Castle, who each sent another appliance.

The vehicle was 70 per cent damaged by fire and the rest was damaged by heat and smoke. A propane cylinder had been removed and was not involved in the fire. The barn suffered slight smoke damage but the contents were not affected.

The fire is being treated as accidental with no cause for suspicion.
