Spitfire flypast secured for Dawlish Carnival

Organisers of Dawlish Carnival have secured a Spitfire flypast for the final day of the week of events this year.

The aircraft's appearance is planned for 1.39pm on Friday 18 August.

A Dawlish Carnival spokesperson said: "We are thrilled to announce that we have been successful in bidding for a Spitfire flypast as a special carnival event!

"Flown by the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), the Spitfire flypast is expected at approximately 1.39pm on Friday 18 August, weather permitting."

The annual week of events will take place from 12 to 18 August this year.

Highlights include the official opening of the carnival on Sunday 13 August, the Pram Race on Tuesday 15 August, the Duck Race on Thursday 17 August, and the community parade on Friday 18 August.
