Police catch 26 drivers speeding in Teignmouth in one hour

A total of 26 drivers were caught speeding in one hour on Higher Exeter Road near Hazeldown Primary School in Teignmouth on Tuesday (13 December), according to Devon and Cornwall Police.

One vehicle was reportedly travelling at 49mph in a 30mph zone "right past the school children on their lunch break".

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "An hour of enforcement outside [Hazeldown Primary School] in Teignmouth today (30 zone).

"A total of 26 offending vehicles detected, one of which was at 49mph, right past the school children on their lunch break - who I might add were very excited to see the police car!"

Police also caught 21 drivers speeding on the same road in Teignmouth in October.
