Person suffers apparent 'medical episode' behind the wheel on Exeter Road, Dawlish

A male individual has been taken to hospital after having what appeared to be a 'medical episode' on Exeter Road in Dawlish this morning (Tuesday 7 June).

Police were contacted after 11am by the ambulance service who were already at the scene. The person was then taken to hospital.

The road was reopened at around 12.45pm after his vehicle was recovered.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were contacted just after 11am by the ambulance service who were at Exeter Road[, Dawlish] on what appeared to be a medical episode whilst a person was behind the wheel. 

"Emergency services are there and ambulance leading on this; the male in question was taken to the RD&E.

"His vehicle recovered and road reopened at around 12.45pm."
