Two firefighters have been recognised for their decades of service at Teignmouth Fire Station.

Watch Managers Ian Radford and Gary Holland joined the fire service in 1976 and 1981 respectively, clocking up a combined total of 85 years of experience.

The pair were honoured last week by current and former Teignmouth fire crew.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Teignmouth crew members past and present said a huge thank-you last week to two of their station's longest-serving colleagues.

"Watch Manager Ian Radford joined the service in 1976 and has given over 44 years operationally at Teignmouth, spending most of his career as our station commander. Ian continues to work within DSFRS in a non-operational role within our group support team.

"Watch Manager Gary Holland joined in 1981 and has given over 41 years at Teignmouth. He continues to work as a local sparky.

"They have dedicated so much of their lives to serving our station, our local community and the wider communities, attending thousands of incidents as far as Cornwall and Dorset!

"Both have been team leaders and have seen so many faces come and go over their time within our team."
