A brand-new shop opened in Dawlish on Wednesday (1 March).

Occupying the premises of the town's former police station, Memories sells a variety of hand-picked 'gifts of distinction' such as Moorcroft pottery, Waterford Crystal glass items, collectibles, and also militaria.

The owners are a retired married couple who live in Dawlish called Kevin and Sylvia Jago.

Sylvia said: "Please come down and have a look.

"We've got, we believe, the largest selection of Moorcroft pottery.

"We've had lots of people looking through the window over the last few days because we were getting ready.

"Hopefully it will enhance this side of the river."

Mayor of Dawlish Cllr Lisa Mayne, who was present at the grand opening, said: "I think it's fantastic that this premises is being used and people have got the confidence in Dawlish to bring such a unique business here."
