Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after A379 crash near Dawlish

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital yesterday afternoon (Monday 17 October) after a crash on the A379 Teignmouth Road between Dawlish and Holcombe.

He sustained a number of injuries including a "serious" leg injury after being involved in a collision with a van.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called around 3.05pm [on] 17 October, following a two-vehicle collision on Teignmouth Road in Dawlish. 

"The collision involved a motorcycle and a van.

"The male motorcyclist sustained a number of injuries, including a serious leg injury.

"Ambulance and air ambulance attended. The rider was airlifted to Derriford Hospital."
