Energy company Wales & West Utilities will start £200k gas pipe works in the Old Town Street area of Dawlish on Tuesday (3 January).

It aims to finish by the end of April, "barring any engineering difficulties".

Road closures will be in place on:

  • Old Town Street (3 January – 18 April)
  • Park Road (6 March – 28 April)
  • Queen Street (3 – 28 April)

Wales & West Utilities spokesperson Travis Wheatle said: "We'll have a team of gas engineers on site throughout the project to make sure our work is completed as safely and as quickly as possible while keeping disruption to a minimum.

"This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future."

The company is inviting people to get in touch if they have questions on 0800 912 2999, social media or at [email protected].
