The Love Dawlish website could be redesigned and resurrected if town councillors support a proposal going before them on Wednesday, January 6.

The website, and its Teignmouth counterpart, had been set up by the Teignmouth and Dawlish Community Interest Company, that was dissolved in March this year.

The website was taken offline, but there has still been an active Love Dawlish Facebook page.

Now, town councillors are being recommended to revive the website, using CIC money that is currently held by Teignbridge District Council's accountants.

Teignmouth Town Council has already agreed to request the transfer of CIC money to its coffers for the same purpose.

At the meeting on January 6, Dawlish councillors will hear that the Love Dawlish website was a very useful source of information for local residents as well as tourists, averaging nine million hits a year, and also brought in income from advertisers.

If councillors agree to revive the website, quotes will be invited for a redesign, and the site will be maintained and kept up to date by town council officers and volunteers, as was the case before.
