Forms for those wishing to take part in the Dawlish Carnival parade are available to fill in - and the deadline is fast approaching.

The parade has not been held since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and this year will feature touring carnival band Rampage Mas headlining the event and a community parade of walking groups.

It will take place on Friday 19 August from 7pm. The route will go through Oak Hill, Old Town Street, Park Road, Queen Street, the Strand and end on the Lawn.

The parade will be followed by a demonstration on the Lawn by Rampage Mas and then a samba band.

A spokesperson for the carnival said: "It's our first parade since Covid – so it's a little different as there will be fewer floats and we are having a walking parade.

"There's no judging this year but individuals will get rosettes for taking part with special organisational rosettes too!"

Entry to join the parade is free.

To enter, fill out a form here and return it by 12pm on Wednesday 17 August, either to the information tent on the Lawn during carnival week or else to Huw Weatherhead, Dawlish Celebrates Carnival, 39 Meadow Park, Dawlish, EX7 9BU.
