South West Water has lifted its hosepipe ban across Devon and Cornwall as of today (Monday 25 September).

It had been in place since August last year and was extended in April to cover more areas of Devon including Dawlish and Teignmouth.

A South West Water spokesperson said: "Climate change has shown how unpredictable weather patterns can be and we must continue to protect the region's rivers and beautiful natural resources.

"We will closely monitor water resources, the weather and demand right across our region, and will continue working closely with the Environment Agency to ensure any decisions are made responsibly."

"We want to thank all of our customers, visitors and businesses in conserving water."

Devon's Roadford Reservoir is reportedly at 53 per cent storage and Cornwall's Colliford Reservoir is at 52 per cent storage.
