Another two days of Covid-19 vaccinations are to take place this week at Dawlish Community Hospital.
Patients from the Coastal Network of GP practices – Barton Surgery in Dawlish, the Channel View Medical Group and the Teign Estuary Medical Group - will be invited to go along for their initial jabs on Thursday, January 7 and Friday 8.
Meanwhile, patients who received the first dose of the vaccine there just before Christmas are having their second jabs cancelled.
The Coastal Network says this is to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from the first vaccine, and follows the latest medical advice that the second dose is still effective when given up to 12 weeks after the first.
In its message to patients, The Coastal Network apologises for any inconvenience caused and says 'this is outside of our control'.
The National Contact Centre has been calling patients to confirm the cancellation of the second dose appointment.
The GP practices will contact people to rebook the follow-up appointments once the necessary arrangements have been made.
