NB. This article is about non-emergencies. In an emergency, when life is threatened, people are injured, offenders are nearby or immediate action is required, always dial 999.

Devon & Cornwall Police is encouraging the public to use online reporting methods to help reduce demand on its 101 non-emergency number.

Its new summer-long campaign, #ItsPersonal, aims to reassure people that every message the force receives about a policing issue will be answered - no matter whether it was reported online or by phone.

How can I make a non-emergency query or report online?

WebChat

WebChat allows you to talk online directly with contact centres.

It's available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be used to ask questions, report non-urgent crime and receive updates on existing crime.

Report Crime Online

Report Crime Online is an easy way to report information or report an incident or crime.

Just record all the details on the online form then submit it via the website.

Contact centre staff will receive the form, record the crime and provide you with a crime reference number.

Email 101

Email [email protected] to ask a question or report non-urgent crime. The email service is monitored daily, and contact centre staff will respond as soon as possible.

AskNED

The non-emergency directory AskNED can also help answer commonly asked questions.

If you would like to call 101, staff are available day and night to answer - you can check current waiting times here.
