Delivery van 'severely damaged' by fire in Shaldon

A delivery van was left severely damaged by fire in The Ness car park in Shaldon today (Wednesday 10 August).

Two fire engines were called out after 11am this morning to the scene, and later left just before 1pm.

Smoke from the blaze could reportedly be seen from Teignmouth.

Five metres of grass verge was also involved in the fire.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two fire engines were called to the incident at 11.21am and left at 12.59pm.

"A delivery van was severely damaged by the fire as well as five metres of grass verge.

"The crews used two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus to put out the fire."
