Bin collections in Teignbridge will take place one day later than normal due to the bank holiday on Monday, the district council has said.

Its waste crews will not be working, but will work on Saturday 24 September to catch up.

The council has also asked residents to leave their bins out until collected.

A spokesperson for Teignbridge District Council said: "Our waste crews will not be working on the Bank Holiday Monday. Collections will be scheduled for one day later than the usual collection day in line with the usual Bank Holiday arrangements, and they will be working on Saturday 24 September to catch up on Friday's collection.

"Please put your bins out the day after your scheduled collection day and leave them out until collected, as some rounds are still running behind schedule."
