Dawlish mayor to host charity dinner
The mayor of Dawlish is set to host a dinner to raise money for the charities she sponsors.
The three-course dinner will be held at the Mount Pleasant Inn in Dawlish Warren on 12 March, and Dawlish Mayor Cllr Val Mawhood will also be holding a bingo event and pig race before the end of her term in May this year.
Cllr Mawhood said: "I was elected as Mayor in May 2021 and will soon be made redundant in May 2022.
"Before then I hope to raise more funds for my chosen charities, being the Scouts, Guides, ATC, Mini and Youth Tennis, Mini and Youth Football and the Dawlish Warren Surf and Life-saving Club.
"I am hoping to raise a few hundred pounds for each group to help them to get back to normal and to encourage the many adult volunteers who make these things possible."
Tickets cost £27.50 and there will be a raffle and prize auction, with prizes including VIP tickets for two for the Toby Buckland Gardenfest, a coastal boat trip for two, clay pigeon shooting, prints donated by well-known local artists, tennis coaching sessions, and a champagne tea for two at Lympstone Manor.
You can buy tickets at the Manor House, Dawlish and get in touch via phone on 01626 863388 or email at [email protected]. Menu choices are required when buying tickets.
