Dawlish firefighters put out vehicle blaze on A380 southbound

Firefighters from Dawlish and Newton Abbot put out a fire that completely destroyed a vehicle on the A380 southbound on Tuesday morning (20 December).

The fire service was called to the scene at the top of Haldon Hill at 8.49am, and left by 10.04am.

No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Dawlish and Newton Abbot attended the incident using two breathing apparatus, one cafs jet and one hose reel.

"The vehicle was 100% destroyed by fire. Everyone was free and clear from the fire."

A road closure was in place and police were also at the scene.
