Dawlish firefighters put out A380 car fire

Firefighters put out a car on fire at the top of Telegraph Hill on Thursday morning (18 May).

Crews from Dawlish and Exeter Middlemoor were called just after 9.40am to the scene on the A380.

The car was completely destroyed by the time it was extinguished.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two crews from Middlemoor and Dawlish were mobilised to a vehicle on fire on the A380 at the top of Telegraph Hill.

"The car was well alight and completely destroyed by the time the fire crew had extinguished it using breathing apparatus, hose reels, a thermal imaging camera and an environmental protection spill kit."
