The price of parking in Teignbridge District Council car parks is set to rise by just over four per cent on average from 1 April.

The charges will broadly increase by around 10 pence.

For example, in the lowest-priced car parks an hour's parking will go up from 40p to 50p and the more expensive resort car parks will go up from £2.10 to £2.20 an hour.

Car parks will be free overnight (from 6pm to 9am), and Sunday car parking costs across the district are being frozen with the cost of a day's parking held at £1.

The increases only apply to district council car parks, not on-street parking such as The Strand in Dawlish which is operated by Devon County Council.
