With rain and wind forecast today, it's easy for the weather to dampen our spirits.
But a rainy day shouldn't have to spoil your fun - see below for our list of fun things to try to keep you entertained.
Five rainy day ideas
1. Puzzles
Jigsaw puzzles, despite being mostly marketed towards children, have made an appearance in recent years among adults.
Jigsaw puzzles are highly recommended for relaxation, and can help you de-stress.
If you have a table on which you can set aside a 1000-piece jigsaw, for example, you can dip in and out whenever you like.
You can also buy a jigsaw mat to roll up the puzzle and store it even if it is incomplete. Click here to view this product on Amazon.
2. Baking
Baking doesn't have to be difficult - in fact, with some easy-to-follow BBC Good Food recipes, you can fill your kitchen with fantastic smells.

3. Reading
Reading nowadays is almost a lost art - why not take a look at your bookshelf and see if there's something that catches your eye?
If you prefer listening to audiobooks, if you haven't signed up already you can download a free audiobook on Audible.
4. Decluttering
Decluttering was a recent fad, popularised by Marie Kondo from Japan on Netflix last year - but its benefits are still applicable.
If items in your home no longer 'spark joy', why not consider getting rid of them (in a Covid-secure way)?
A spring clean also works wonders, and it can be very satisfying to see the fruits of your labour.
5. Learn something new
It's never too late to learn - in fact, learning a new language, for example, can be very beneficial for your brain.
The Great Courses Plus is an excellent resource for academic learning, and on Udemy we just found an excellent watercolour course for beginners.
