Covid vaccination latest: nearly 73% of Teignbridge adults have had first jab

More than two thirds of adults across Devon and Cornwall have had their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine – and one more than one in five adults have had their second jab.
The statistics, providing the position as of April 18, show that there had so far been 1,304,406 vaccines delivered in the two counties, with 989,975 of them being the first dose. Those numbers will have risen in the last few days.
In Devon, 671,070 people have had their first dose, with 209,777 of them having had a second dose, while in Cornwall, 318,905 people have had their first dose, with 104,654 a second dose.
It means that in Devon, 67.1 per cent of adults have had at least vaccine dose, with 20.9 per cent of adults having had a second dose, while in Cornwall, 68.8 per cent of adults have had one dose, with 22.6 per cent having had their second dose as well. These figures will have risen in the most recent days as it shows the position as of Sunday.
Of the adult population, 68.8 per cent in Cornwall, 73.9 per cent in East Devon, 54.1 per cent in Exeter, 82.4 per cent in the Isles of Scilly, 69.5 per cent in Mid Devon, 71.2 per cent in North Devon, 63.7 per cent in Plymouth, 73 per cent in South Hams, 72.6 per cent in Teignbridge, 74.3 per cent in Torbay, 72.5 per cent in Torridge, and 73.9 per cent in West Devon have had one dose.
Across Devon, 91.6 per cent of those age 50-54 have had their first jab, with 88.2 per cent in Cornwall, while of those aged 45-49, 53.5 per cent in Cornwall and 59.7 per cent in Devon have as well. Uptake for every age group above 55 in the two counties is more than 94 per cent.
