Burst water main closes A379 Teignmouth Road both ways near Dawlish

Update 9 February 8.48am: The road has reopened.

Update 6.51pm: The road was reopened briefly but has been closed again.

Update 5.44pm: The road is now only partially blocked.

The A379 Teignmouth Road is currently closed due to a burst water main near The Smugglers Inn.

The road is closed both ways between John Nash Drive and Fordens Lane.

An AA alert reads: "Road closed and slow traffic due to burst water main on A379 Teignmouth Road both ways between John Nash Drive and Fordens Lane. Near to The Smugglers Inn."

The water is reportedly coming from the direction of Fordens Lane.
