A new luxury £13m care home in Dawlish is on course to open early next year with building work "progressing well".

Maria Mallaband Care Group's three-storey 'Claremont Manor', located off the A379 near Sainsbury's, is set to open in January.

It will reportedly create up to 75 jobs when finished.

The home will have 71 en-suite bedrooms across three floors, as well as multiple lounges, restaurants, communal areas and a garden. It will also feature a hair and beauty suite, cinema room, wellness suite, private dining room and a "grandchildren's room".

Customer Relations Manager for Claremont Manor Sabrina Waterhouse said: "We are entering a really exciting point in the build, where we are starting to see the different spaces forming and identify each room and lounge.  

"We strive to help those living with us to retain their independence and maintain their hobbies and passions because we understand that moving into a new environment is never an easy thing, so we want to ensure that their experience living with us is as comfortable and enjoyable and they can keep living life to the fullest."

There will be two recruitment events in October for interested parties to meet the management team and find out more about the new jobs on offer.
